HOCHTIEF Aktiengesellschaft is a Germany-based global construction company founded in 1873 and headquartered in Essen. It operates through segments including Turner, CIMIC, Engineering and Construction, and Abertis, delivering large-scale building, civil engineering, industrial, and infrastructure projects as well as project management, procurement, and maintenance services to public and private clients worldwide. The company also engages in infrastructure investment and serves industrial, energy, natural resources, and civil infrastructure markets. HOCHTIEF is controlled by Spains ACS Group (ACS, Actividades de Construcción y Servicios, S.A.) and is listed on XETRA under the ticker HOT.
The construction and engineering sector is highly cyclical, driven by public infrastructure spending, urbanization, and large-scale industrial demand, and typically operates on long project cycles with fixed-price contracts. In addition to core construction, firms in this space increasingly pursue infrastructure concessions and asset ownership (for example, toll roads and airports) to generate more stable, recurring cash flow than pure project execution alone.
- Turner backlog expands on US data center construction boom
- CIMIC mining services revenue tracks Australian commodity capex
- Abertis toll road traffic drives concession segment cash flow
