Compagnie Financière Richemont SA is a Switzerland-based investment holding company focused on the global luxury goods sector. It operates through three reporting segments: Jewellery Maisons, Specialist Watchmakers, and Other, covering the design, manufacture, and distribution of jewelry, watches, leather goods, writing instruments, clothing, and accessories. The groups segment structure reflects the industrys wider split between hard luxury (jewellery and high-end timepieces) and soft luxury (fashion, leather goods, and accessories).
Richemonts portfolio includes leading maisons such as Cartier and Van Cleef & Arpels in jewellery, prestige watchmakers including IWC Schaffhausen, Jaeger-LeCoultre, Panerai, Piaget, and Vacheron Constantin, as well as fashion and accessory brands such as Chloé, Montblanc, Peter Millar, and dunhill. Products are sold through a mix of directly operated retail stores, e-commerce platforms, and third-party wholesale distributors, a multi-channel model typical of the global luxury industry.
The company sells across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, the Americas, and the broader Asia-Pacific region, including key luxury markets such as China, Hong Kong, Macau, Japan, and South Korea. Richemont was incorporated in 1979 and is headquartered in Bellevue, Switzerland.
- Jewellery Maisons outpace watchmakers on Cartier demand
- China luxury demand recovery drives Asia Pacific sales
- Gold price surge pressures jewellery segment gross margins
