Woori Financial Group Inc. is a South Korea-based bank holding company that provides a broad range of financial services across Korea, China, the United States, the United Kingdom, Japan, and other international markets. Founded in 1899 and headquartered in Seoul, the company operates through four business segments: Banking Insurance, Credit Card Capital, Investment Securities, and Others.
Its service offerings span retail and commercial banking, insurance, credit and debit cards, lease financing, securities brokerage and trading, foreign exchange, investment trusts, private equity funds, asset management, and retirement pension products. The group also engages in related activities such as system software development, credit information services, derivatives trading, and asset securitization. As a diversified bank under the GICS classification, Woori combines traditional lending and deposit-taking with capital markets, insurance distribution, and asset management within a single financial holding company structure.
