Textron Inc. is a diversified U.S.-based industrial company operating across six business segments: Textron Aviation, Bell, Textron Systems, Industrial, Textron eAviation, and Finance. Its aviation businesses produce business jets, turboprops, military trainers, helicopters, tiltrotor aircraft, unmanned aerial systems, and electronic and marine defense solutions, while its Industrial segment supplies blow-molded fuel tanks, battery systems for electric vehicles, golf cars, utility vehicles, and turf-care equipment. The company also offers aircraft financing through its Finance segment, creating a vertically integrated model that supports both product sales and aftermarket services. Founded in 1923 and headquartered in Providence, Rhode Island, Textron is classified within the Aerospace & Defense sub-industry of the Industrials sector.
As a large-cap member of the aerospace and defense industry, Textron benefits from long-cycle government and commercial aviation demand, including military procurement and business jet markets. Its inclusion of a captive finance arm is a common strategy among major aerospace OEMs, enabling it to support customer purchases of its own aircraft and helicopters while generating recurring interest income.
- Bell FLRAA contract win expands military rotorcraft backlog
- Textron Aviation business jet deliveries drive revenue growth
