Description: RSPH SP500 Equal Weight Health

The Invesco S&P 500 Equal Weight Health Care ETF (RSPH) is a passively managed fund that seeks to track an underlying index by investing at least 90% of its total assets in the indexs component securities. The index itself is built from all companies within the S&P 500 Index that are classified under the health care sector according to the Global Industry Classification Standard (GICS), a sector taxonomy jointly maintained by S&P Dow Jones Indices and MSCI.

Unlike market capitalization-weighted approaches, the funds equal weight methodology assigns each constituent a roughly identical portfolio weight at each rebalance, giving smaller health care companies the same influence on performance as the largest sector names. The GICS health care sector broadly spans four industry groups: pharmaceuticals, biotechnology & life sciences, health care equipment & services, and health care providers, though the funds holdings are restricted to those firms also included in the S&P 500.

Headlines to Watch Out For
  • Drug pricing reforms pressure pharma margins across equal-weight holdings
  • FDA approval pipeline drives biotech valuations in portfolio
  • Interest rate cuts lift small-cap biotech weighting impact
