Description: OR Osisko Gold Ro

OR Royalties Inc. (NYSE: OR) is a Canadian mining-focused company that acquires and manages precious metal royalties, streams, and related interests in Canada and internationally. The company was founded in 2014, is headquartered in Montreal, and was renamed from Osisko Gold Royalties Ltd to OR Royalties Inc. in May 2025. It is listed in the GICS Materials sector under the Gold sub-industry, with a mid-cap market capitalization of approximately US$6.7 billion as of its most recent valuation.

The companys primary asset is a 3-5% net smelter return (NSR) royalty on the Canadian Malartic complex in Canada. NSR royalties entitle the holder to a percentage of revenue from mineral production, after deducting smelting, refining, and certain transport costs. In addition to royalties, OR participates in off-take options, royalty/stream financings, and holds exclusive rights to participate in future financings on various projects. It is also engaged in the exploration, evaluation, and development of mining properties targeting gold, silver, copper, and diamond.

Royalty and streaming companies operate under a non-operating business model, providing upfront capital to mining operators in exchange for a share of future production or revenue. This structure allows the company to generate cash flow without the operational risks associated with mine ownership, while typically offering higher margins than traditional mining. Gold royalty companies benefit from rising precious metal prices and increased production volumes at the underlying mining operations.

Headlines to Watch Out For
