The iShares U.S. Equity Factor ETF (LRGF) is a multi-factor equity fund that invests at least 80% of its assets in securities of its underlying index, or instruments with substantially identical economic characteristics. The underlying index is derived from the STOXX USA 900 Index, focusing on large- and mid-capitalization U.S. equities. The fund uses an optimization process to select and weight stocks based on five target factors: momentum, quality, value, low volatility, and size.
LRGF employs a smart beta or factor investing strategy, which uses rules-based stock selection and weighting rather than traditional market-capitalization weighting. This approach aims to capture specific risk premia associated with the five target factors, offering investors targeted style exposure within the U.S. large- and mid-cap equity space. As a passive ETF product issued by iShares (BlackRocks ETF brand), it provides a diversified, low-cost vehicle for factor-based investing.
