The Fidelity International Value Factor ETF (FIVA) is a passive exchange-traded fund that seeks to track the Fidelity International Value Factor Index. The fund invests at least 80% of its assets in the indexs component securities, including depositary receipts (such as ADRs) that represent foreign stocks. The underlying index is designed to capture large- and mid-capitalization companies in developed international markets (excluding the U.S.) that screen as attractively valued based on fundamental metrics.
The value factor is a well-established investment style that targets stocks trading at lower valuations relative to fundamentals such as earnings, book value, or cash flow. As a factor-based ETF, FIVA follows a rules-based, passive investment approach rather than relying on active stock selection. The fund provides U.S. investors with exposure to developed-market international equities through a value-tilted strategy, with developed markets generally referring to economies in regions such as Europe, Japan, and Australasia.
- Developed market value stocks trade at deep discount to US equities
- USD weakness lifts international equity returns for US investors
- European and Japanese value sectors see earnings recovery and margin expansion
