The iShares MSCI EAFE ETF (EFA) is an exchange-traded fund that seeks to track the performance of the MSCI EAFE Index, a free float-adjusted, market capitalization-weighted benchmark covering large- and mid-cap equities in developed markets outside the United States and Canada. The fund invests at least 80% of its assets in the component securities of the underlying index or in investments with substantially identical economic characteristics. As a Foreign Large Blend ETF, EFA provides exposure to equity markets in regions such as Europe, Australasia, and the Far East, and is managed by BlackRock under the iShares brand.
