Description: DIA Dow Jones Industrial

The SPDR Dow Jones Industrial Average ETF Trust (DIA) is structured as a unit investment trust that holds substantially all of the common stocks comprising the Dow Jones Industrial Average, with each holding weighted according to the Trust Agreement. Unlike open-end mutual funds or many ETFs, unit investment trusts follow a passive buy-and-hold strategy and generally do not reinvest dividends or rebalance dynamically.

The underlying DJIA is a price-weighted index of 30 large-cap U.S. equities spanning diverse sectors such as industrials, information technology, financials, health care, and consumer discretionary. DIA provides investors with single-instrument exposure to this benchmark, making it one of the longest-tenured ETFs in the U.S. market.
