The iShares ESG 1-5 Year USD Corporate Bond ETF (SUSB) is a passively managed exchange-traded fund that seeks to track the performance of an underlying index composed of short-duration U.S. dollar-denominated corporate bonds issued by companies meeting specified ESG (environmental, social, and governance) criteria. The fund invests at least 90% of its assets in the indexs component securities, with the remaining portion allocated to futures, options, swap contracts, and cash equivalents. The underlying index is developed by Bloomberg Index Services Limited using ESG rating inputs provided by MSCI ESG Research LLC.
As a short-term bond ETF in the sustainable investing segment, SUSB targets investment-grade corporate bonds with maturities ranging from one to five years, which generally results in lower interest rate sensitivity compared to longer-duration funds. iShares ETFs are managed by BlackRock, the worlds largest asset manager, and the fund offers investors a way to gain diversified exposure to ESG-screened corporate debt through a single security traded on the NASDAQ exchange.
