Description: MRVL Marvell Technology

Marvell Technology is a U.S.-headquartered fabless semiconductor company that designs data infrastructure chips spanning from the data center core to the network edge. Its product portfolio includes ethernet controllers, network adapters, physical transceivers and switches, single and multi-core processors, custom application-specific integrated circuits (ASICs), fibre channel adapters, and storage controllers for hard disk and solid-state drives. The company also offers a broad set of interconnect technologies, such as coherent and coherent-lite digital signal processors (DSPs), silicon photonics, co-packaged optics, linear pluggable optics, active electrical cable DSPs, and PCIe retimer solutions, alongside host interface products supporting SATA, SAS, PCIe, NVMe, and NVMe-over-fabrics standards. Marvell sells through both direct customers and distributors, serving data center, communications, and other end markets across the Americas, Asia, and other international regions. The company was incorporated in 1995 and is headquartered in Wilmington, Delaware.

Marvell operates within the GICS Information Technology sector, specifically the Semiconductors sub-industry, and follows a fabless model that outsources wafer manufacturing and focuses internal resources on chip design, IP development, and reference platforms. Demand for its products is closely tied to hyperscale data center build-outs, cloud and enterprise networking upgrades, and the rollout of high-speed optical interconnects used to link AI training clusters and large-scale storage systems.

Headlines to Watch Out For
  • Custom AI silicon revenue surges from hyperscaler cloud customers
  • China export controls threaten significant data center chip revenue
  • Optical DSP and interconnect demand grows with AI data center buildouts
