Mediobanca is an Italian diversified financial group headquartered in Milan, founded in 1946 and operating across Europe, the United States, and Asia. It is listed on the Milan Stock Exchange (ticker: MB) and, according to public filings, operates as a subsidiary of Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena, one of the worlds oldest banking institutions. The group reports through five segments: Wealth Management, Consumer Finance, Corporate and Investment Banking, Insurance – Principal Investing, and Holding Functions.

The Wealth Management segment serves private banking and premier clients with portfolio and asset management services, placing Mediobanca within Italys sizable private banking industry. The Consumer Finance segment offers personal loans, special-purpose loans, salary- and pension-backed lending, credit cards, and the Pagolight buy-now-pay-later platform, reflecting the banks positioning in both traditional consumer credit and the growth of digital point-of-sale financing. The Corporate and Investment Banking segment provides lending, capital markets, advisory, and trading services alongside specialty finance such as factoring and credit management.

Mediobancas mix of investment banking, private wealth, consumer credit, and insurance principal investing reflects the universal banking model common among larger Italian financial institutions. The Insurance – Principal Investing segment holds equity investments on its own balance sheet, while the Holding Functions segment manages treasury and asset/liability management.
