Description: HEEM Currency Hedged Emerging

The iShares Currency Hedged MSCI Emerging Markets ETF (HEEM) is an exchange-listed fund that seeks to track the performance of global emerging market equities while hedging the associated currency exposure back to the U.S. dollar. The fund primarily invests at least 80% of its assets in the constituent securities of the MSCI Emerging Markets index or in instruments with substantially identical economic characteristics. The index, developed by MSCI, serves as a benchmark for large- and mid-cap equity performance across emerging market countries, and the currency risk is neutralized on a monthly basis through the use of currency hedging instruments such as forward contracts. Launched in 2014, HEEM is structured as a passive ETF, allowing investors to gain diversified emerging markets equity exposure without taking on direct foreign exchange risk against the U.S. dollar.
