Description: GOVT U.S. Treasury Bond

The iShares U.S. Treasury Bond ETF (GOVT) is an intermediate-term U.S. government bond ETF managed by BlackRock Fund Advisors (BFA). The fund invests at least 90% of its assets in U.S. Treasury securities and at least 80% in the component securities of its underlying index, which targets publicly-issued Treasuries with remaining maturities between one and thirty years and at least $300 million in outstanding face value.

As an ETF listed on BATS since its 2012 launch, GOVT provides investors with diversified, low-cost exposure to the U.S. Treasury market through a passively managed index-tracking structure, falling within the Intermediate Government ETF category. The funds underlying index methodology is designed to represent the broad U.S. Treasury bond market, excluding very short-term bills (under one year) and focusing on intermediate to long-dated government debt.
